Why should I start a Jesus Group?

You will be opening your heart, life and home to mature your "love" relationship and walk with Jesus as you get to know and love other followers of Him. It also gives you plenty of opportunity to obey the two primary commands of Jesus!

Love

You will be obeying the command of Jesus to "love one another".

"A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35

"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." John 14:15

"And this is His (God the Father's) commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another just as He commanded us." 1 John 3:23

Purpose

You will be obeying the command of Jesus to proclaim the "Good News" and make disciples.

"And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel ..." Mark 16:15

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples ... teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

Fellowship

You will be building fellowship within a kindred spiritual family who know and love Jesus.

"so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another" Romans 12:5

"We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ." 1 John 1:3

"Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him." John 14:21

"Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him." John 14:23

Presence

Jesus said "where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them".

"For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20

Promises

Jesus said "if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven".

"Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven." Matthew 18:19

Blessings

You will be blessed by gathering together in your home in Jesus name.

"With one accord they continued to meet ... to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people." Acts 2:46-47

Growth

You will grow deeper and more mature in your love and knowledge of Jesus and one another.

"Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head. From Him the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part." Ephesians 4:14-16
